  • All volunteers must complete a volunteer application, have an interview with one of our staff, and complete a background check. A comprehensive training will also be provided. A commitment of 1 year is required for volunteers.

Dinner/Parking Helper: Help us by setting up a potluck dinner for the families, cleaning up the dinner afterwards and putting away leftovers. You may also assist with helping our families park, checking them in and providing name tags.
-Commitment of at least 1.5 hours twice a month (6:00 pm - 7:30 pm)

House Helper: Help the Valerie's House staff by giving your time during the day. Tasks include organizing arts & crafts, stuffing envelopes, organizing toys & bears, and more!

Lawn & Garden Care: We are looking for help with our lawn and garden maintenance. From routine lawn cutting and cosmetic upkeep to help with pulling weeds, mulching, tilling, refreshing the flowers with general weekly or semi-weekly upkeep and watering.

Handyman for an Afternoon: Just like an house used by a lot of people, Valerie’s House needs some TLC from time to time. It’s no surprise that at least once a month, we could use a handy someone to fix little things that might need adjusting (toilets, steps, etc.). There’s always something! If you are handy with a hammer and a wrench, we can use your help! Volunteer for a regular monthly date or be “on call” to help handle those fixit needs.

Sponsor a Meal for the Kids’ Group Nights: Every group night starts with a family meal, giving our families time to enjoy dinner together. Currently, families prepare and bring potluck dishes to share. We’re looking for restaurants to cater the meal — or businesses to cover the costs of catering — for an evening. Typical group is about 25 people (from young children to grandparents), and pizza, chicken, tacos, pasta, are among the favorites! More details
