Nashville-style songwriters’ round and Family Fun at Fort Myers Brewing Company

FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 15, 2018) — The first-ever Hops & Hope fundraiser to take place on December 1 will feature talented, local songwriters performing in a Nashville-style, songwriters’ round, alongside refreshing craft brews and lots of family fun activities to benefit Valerie’s House.

The indoor/outdoor, dog- and child-friendly benefit kicks off at 2 p.m. and runs to 6 p.m. at Fort Myers Brewing Company, located at 12811 Commerce Lakes Drive, #28 in Fort Myers, FL 33913, just East of I-75 and a half mile from JetBlue Park. Participating local songwriters will be familiar to regional music fans from appearances at the Island Hopper songwriting festivals held annually on Fort Myers Beach and Captiva Island.

Fort Myers Brewing Company will be serving its popular craft brews and donating a portion of the beverage proceeds to Valerie’s House. Popular local food trucks and enjoyable family activities will round out an enjoyable musical afternoon for all ages, while raising money to help support the needs of grieving children.

Advance tickets for the event are not required.

About Valerie's House

Valerie’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has provided grief services since 2016 to over 300 children and their families from Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Sarasota counties at its Fort Myers and Naples locations. As the first program of its kind in Southwest Florida, Valerie’s House provides a safe, comfortable place for children of loss to bond, grieve and heal together following death of a close family member. The organization’s vision since its founding by Angela Melvin is that no child will grieve alone. Valerie’s House is a United Way partner agency that is fully supported through generous donations from the community. Donations for the Hops & Hope fundraiser are optional and appreciated and can be made online.
