Valerie’s House, a Fort Myers based non-profit whose mission is to help children and families work through the death of a loved one, is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to assist its CEO and team with aspects of running the organization. Hours will likely be Monday- Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. As a member of the Valerie’s House team, the Administrative Assistant will adhere to the core values of Valerie’s House at all times.

Areas of Responsibility and Essential Duties

  • Assists CEO in daily email and phone correspondence with community and scheduling of CEO’s calendar.

  • Acts as liaison for CEO and other departments in growing organization.

  • Works in various software databases to input information and run reports.

  • Helps CEO prepare for various meetings, including document preparation and research.

  • Works with Operations Director on various aspects of the business operations.


A minimum of three years experience working in an administrative capacity required, with experience working for a CEO or other top level management preferred. A passion and understanding for children and families grieving is needed. Must be able to use the computer to create professional documents and reports using current word processing and report building software. Must be able to learn new computer programs and utilize these programs to support VH administrative and programmatic needs. Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and a personal vehicle for work related travel.
